In Response To: Osage-1870's (Martha Lawlor)

By 1870 Osage was a busy little town. Land was selling at a good price and towns often advertised in newspapers. Mitchell county, Iowa has some of the best soil in the state. Word must have gotten around to your family that land was available around Osage at that time or relatives, friends or neighbors may have moved to the area and sent word back to Michigan.

The Osage Public Library should be able to provide with a copy of page 479.
