Osage-1870's

YAUNEY, CRAIG, LAWLOR

In the 1870 census my GGGF and GGGM live in Osage, William Yauney and Louisa Craig Yauney. They came from Michigan sometime between 1856 and 1870. Also living there in 1870 was the brother of Louisa, Esakiah Craig and family, also from Michigan. William Yauney died in Osage in 1874. Their daughter Fannie Jane Yauney, was married in Osage in 1878, had her first child (my grandfather) in 1879, who were all in South Dakota in the 1880 census. I am interested in knowing, if possible, what would have drawn them from Michigan to Osage, Iowa. What was happening there around that time?
Also I'm interested in finding out how to get a copy of page 479 of 'The Story of Mitchell Co. 1851-1973'. Many thanks for any info you may be able to provide....
