Tilda Adelina Tollefson was born January 31, 1876 at St Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa to Tollef Mikkelson Tollefson and Aase Jensdatter Gilbertson, the fifth of their seven children.

Tilda was baptized on March 19, 1876 at the First Lutheran Church at St Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa. Her baptismal sponsors were: Mr & Mrs Abraham T Tollefson; Andre M Tollefson; Anna Tollefson and Synneva Torgersdatter. She was confirmed at First Lutheran Church also.

1880: T. M. Tollefson 39, Aase Tollefson 38, John M. Tollefson 13, George B. Tollefson 11, Martin A. Tollefson 9, Jennie M. Tollefson 7, Tilda A. Tollefson 4, Hans Bugge 19.

1885: Tollef Tollefsen 44, Aase Tollefsen 43, John M Tollefsen 18, George B Tollefsen 16, Martin Tollefsen 13, Jennie M Tollefsen 11, Tilda A Tollefsen 8, Laurilts A Tollefsen 3, Knud H Tosand 22, Ingeborg T Skalt 21.

1895: Tillie Tollefson age 18.

Tilda married Henry Nicolaus Donhowe (b 1872, d 1925) on September 1, 1896 at the First Lutheran Church, St Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa.

The couple had 3 children: Arthur, Jeanette and Erling.

Found in the 1900 - 1925 censuses living at Story City, Story, Iowa:
1910: Henry N Donhowe 38, Tillie A Donhowe 34, Arthur T Donhowe 12, O M Jeanette Donhowe 10, Erling M Donhowe 3.

1915: Tillie Donhowe age 39.

1925: Henry N Donhowe 52, Tillie A Donhowe 48, Erling N Donhowe 18, Ole Donhowe 90.

Found in the 1930 census at Des Moines, Polk, Iowa working as a maid, widowed: Tillie Donhowe age 50.

Tilda Donhowe died March 21, 1952 at St Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa. She was buried at the Story City Cemetery, Story City, Story, Iowa.

There is a memorial for her at Find A Grave #100948091.
