Tilda Adelina Tollefson was born January 31, 1876 at St Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa to Tollef Mikkelson Tollefson and Aase Jensdatter Gilbertson, the fifth of their seven children.

Tilda was baptized on March 19, 1876 at the First Lutheran Church at St Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa. Her baptismal sponsors were: Mr & Mrs Abraham T Tollefson; Andre M Tollefson; Anna Tollefson and Synneva Torgersdatter. She was confirmed at First Lutheran Church also.

Tilda married Henry Nicolaus Donhowe (b 1872, d 1925) on September 1, 1896 at the First Lutheran Church, St Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa.

The couple had 3 children: Arthur, Jeanette and Erling.

Found in the 1930 census at Des Moines, Polk, Iowa working as a maid, widowed: Tillie Donhowe age 50.

Tilda Donhowe died March 21, 1952 at St Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa. She was buried at the Story City Cemetery, Story City, Story, Iowa.
