Mrs. Lars H. Johnson, nee Ingeborg Andrea Tollefson, was born at Krageroe, Norway on November 19, 1848. In the spring of 1849 she came with her parents to America and lived for some time in Illinois and Wisconsin. Mrs. Johnson had been an exceptionally strong and active woman and had always been blessed with good health and a good disposition. In the spring of 1877 she entered into matrimony with Lars Johnson, and for sixty years had lived in this county. Her husband preceded her in death on February 12, 1927.

She passed away Monday evening, May 10, 1937 from a heart attack at the home of Mayme Cutler, in Osage, where she was visiting a few days.

Surviving are seven children: Mrs. Nellie J. Wood, Colfax; Mrs. Lewis (Hanna Emilia) Field, Manly; Ole J. Johnson, Osage; Mrs. P.B. (Helen) Larson, Osage; Mrs. E.L. (Estella) Wahl, Lyle, Minnesota; Clara L. Johnson, Maywood, Illinois; Mrs. Olive Howe, Osage; and also sixteen grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
