Chuck as he was affectionately known by family and friends, furthered his education attending the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa, graduating in 1952, having earned a degree in Business. He had been a farmer throughout his life, milking dairy cows, raising livestock and growing a variety of crops. He had a great passion for sailing at the family summer home on Lake Leelanau and Grand Traverse Bay in Michigan, gardening, and a tremendous love for the outdoors and nature. Chuck was also a bird watcher, an avid reader, had a very inquisitive mind and liked doing research and completing weed identification. He loved caring for his family and took great pride in all that he accomplished.
He will be best remembered as a man who was very loving, gentle, patient and always having a positive outlook on life. Chuck took great joy in listening to classical music.
Chuck will be dearly missed by his family and friends and remembered to everyone who knew him as a best friend.
