CLEAR LAKE – Darlene Jean Bublitz, 53, formerly of St. Ansgar, died on Friday (Jan. 1, 2010) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City.
Memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 5, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar, with the Rev. Dr. Byron Northwick officiating. Burial will take place in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, St. Ansgar.

CLEAR LAKE, IOWA - Darlene Jean Bublitz, formerly of St. Ansgar, Iowa, died on Friday (Jan. 1, 2010) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City.
Memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 5, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar, with the Rev. Dr. Byron Northwick officiating. Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, St. Ansgar.
Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home of St. Ansgar is in charge of arrangements.
Darlene was born on June 16, 1956, at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital, Osage, to Robert and Patricia (Cummings) Bublitz of St.Ansgar. She graduated from St. Ansgar High School in 1974. She suffered a stroke in 1976. After hospitalization and rehabilitation, in 1979 she moved to Clear Lake, where she spent the next 30 years with the caring staff and residents at Opportunity Village. They were all considered part of her extended family.
Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Patricia Bublitz; a brother, James (Julie) Bublitz of Waverly; a sister, JoAnn (John) Fischer of Mitchell; nieces and nephews, Shane (Shelly) Bublitz, Nick (Beth) Bublitz, Jamie (Bill) Hennessey, Jesse (Katie) Fischer; great nieces and nephews, Parker, Keagan and Ava Hennessey; Wesley Johnson and Leah Fischer; four aunts; two uncles; several cousins and her special family, the Staff and Residents of Opportunity Village.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Bublitz; brother, Curtis; grandparents Arnold and Wilma Bublitz, Mike and Viola Cummings; three uncles.
