you are correct about Francis Marion Shearer. He did die at Fort Donelson Tenn and is buried there. He died 3/17/1863. My husband and I were there a couple years back and took a picture of the gravestone if you would like it. Do not know where his wife went after he died. His parents, John and Mary Shearer went to Madison County Iowas and died there around 1885.
