Your Patrick Cavanaugh was a twin and his brother John died as an infant. They were born in Dimmick Twp., LaSalle County, Illinois.

They were born into the family of Patrick and Hanora Hannifin Cavanagh both of Ballyferriter Catholic Parish on the Dingle Peneninsula, County Kerry, Ireland.

The other children in this family were Thomas (my gggrandfather), Daniel, Mary, Ellen Cavanagh Cullen, and Timothy J. Cavanaugh. Thomas and Daniel Cavanagh raised large families in Livingston County, Illinois. The brothers (Patrick and Timothy both spelled "augh" and Patrick to Kossuth County and Tim to Storm Lake.

The parents of Patrick & Hanora Hannifin were Daniel Cavanagh and Mary Moore and Timothy and Mary Manning Hannifin......all from Dingle.
