I'm the son of Herman Thomas Schlimmer who was the son of Herman Christian Schlimmer and Gladys Beeks. Someone recently stated that a Caroll Schlimmer graduated from Tipton High in Tipton, Ia around 1962 or '64. My older brother and sister graduated in '66 and I graduated in '68. I don't remember any other Schlimmers anywhere in the area growing up. Herman married Betty Stull in Davenport and after the war they bought a farm in Cedar County. I'm not clear on how many relatives retained the Schlimmer last name and remained in Iowa.
