FORT FAIRFIELD???

Hi-According to her death certificate,my great grandmother was born in 12Apr1862 in Fort Fairfield,Iowa.
I have been unable to confirm the actual location of this town, and thought this information might
be available at your web site. Rootsweb does not recognize any county associated with "Fort Fairfield",
and the only mention I have been able to locate is the following mention made to a letter during the Civil War.

Virginia Tech Libraries' Special Collections Guide to Civil War ... Letter written May 5, 1861, from a Fort Fairfield, Iowa, farmer to relatives. Mentions farm and family, and refers to the recent outbreak of war between the states.

Do you happen to have any idea where "Fort Fairfield" might be located?
