Whoops! I think we're talking about the wrong Orpha Nichols. A search on the Iowa Graves Survey (WPA) showed:

EVANS, Orpha
Born: 1836
Died: 6-3-1925
Cemetery: EVERGREEN
Location: FAIRFIELD
County: JEFFERSON CO. - IOWA
Record Notes: W/O JOHN; CHR. CHARLES, THOMAS, MRS. ADA PICKETT

She's the one that I'm related to. I don't know who made the entry, but either the Record notes indicate whats engraved on the headstone or some other record must indicate this.
