EVELYN CORRINE MYERS
Libertyville

Evelyn Corrine MYERS, age 97, formerly of Libertyville, passed away February 26, 2022, at Independence Village in Waukee, Iowa (note: in Dallas Co., IA).

Visitation for family and friends will be prior to the memorial service starting at 11:00 a.m., March 2, 2022, at Faith United Methodist Church in Libertyville. Memorial service will be 11:30 a.m. with Rev. John D. Boatman officiating. Inurnment will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery at a later date.

A time for fellowship and a luncheon will follow the Memorial Service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Faith United Methodist Church or Animal Rescue of Carroll. Cards and memorials can be sent to Katie GOODALL, 16633 Dellwood Drive, Clive, IA 50325.

Evelyn was born August 13, 1924, in Rood House, Illinois, to Edward Mark and Pearl (ELSING) BYRNE. She married Robert Dean MYERS on December 26, 1947. Robert and Evelyn were married 57 years before he passed away in 2004.

Evelyn was the assistant postmaster in Libertyville first and then went to Packwood Post Office as postmaster retiring with a total of 39 years. She was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church in Libertyville, member of the Fairfield Jefferson County Hospital Auxiliary/Bargin Box (sic), Fairfield Bridge Club and Fairfield Women's Club. Evelyn had a love for animals with last pet being her hansom (sic) cat Pete. She was also a good story teller. Some of her other interests were shopping and reading romance novels.

Evelyn will be missed by her grandchildren, Troy (Jessica) MYERS of North Sioux City, SD, and Katie (Andy) GOODALL of Clive; three great-grandchildren, Laura, Will and Claire GOODALL; and her cat, Pete.

Evelyn was preceded by her parents, Edward and Pearl BYRNE; husband, Robert; son, William A MYERS; and four siblings, Bill, Ed, Janet and one at birth.
