CANTRIL -- Ida Mae ECKWALL, 84, formerly of Cantril and Fairfield, died at 7:45 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, 1993, at Van Buren Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua (note: in Van Buren Co., IA).
The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua with the Rev. Kim Eanes officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery at Fairfield. Visitation is open at the funeral home with the family present from 7 to 8 tonight. Memorials may be left a the funeral home.
Mrs. ECKWALL was born Nov. 17, 1908, in Mount Pleasant, the daughter of George and Ida BLYTHE CARVER. She married Tom MARTIN on Oct. 23, 1929. He died Nov. 19, 1952. On Nov. 27, 1959, she married Ervin ECKWALL, who died March 28, 1977. She and MARTIN farmed near Cantril and she and ECKWALL farmed near Fairfield. She also had lived in Fairfield, Cantril and Bloomfield.
Surviving are two sons, Wilbur and Dean MARTIN, both of Cantril; two stepdaughters, Ermalee TEAL of Fort Madison, Virginia BEACH of Denmark, Iowa; 19 grandchildren and eight stepgrandchildren. Two stepsons, Walter and Miles MARTIN, four brothers and four sisters pre- (sic - text missing, believed to be "preceded her in death".)
