Timothy J. TERRELL II

Timothy J. TERRELL II, 84, of Keosauqua, died Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2016, at Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.

A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Len Garrison officiating. Burial of cremains, with military rites, will be at Lebanon Cemetery (note: in Van Buren Co., IA).

Visitation will be 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to G.I.V.E. Program, Riverside Golf Course or Veterans for the Blind. Cards and memorials can be sent to Timothy TERRELL, 3309 W. Jefferson Ave., Fairfield 52556. Online condolences can be made to the family at www.behnerfh.com.

Mr. TERRELL was born May 1, 1932, in Ottumwa, the son of Timothy and Pearl SHIELDS TERRELL. He married Rosemary Jeanette HIXSON July 10, 1955, in Packwood. She died Jan. 15, 2013.

Mr. TERRELL was drafted in the Army during the Korean War (sic - Korean Conflict).

He worked at Lowenberg Bakery until he retired in 1965 due to vision impairment. He later opened a bike shop in Batavia and Fairfield.

For 21 years, Mr. TERRELL golfed in the T.E.E Veterans tournament and bowled on different bowling leagues out of Ottumwa and Fairfield. He was a ham radio operator (WB0SQJ), liked to do woodworking and traveling. He was a member of the Ottumwa Saddle Club and a St. Louis Cardinals fan. Most important to him was being able to spend time with family and friends.

Survivors include: five children, Becky TERRELL-MYERS with Brian Poole of Des Moines, Pamela TERRELL of Birmingham, Tim TERRELL III with Keeta of Fairfield, Dan TERRELL with Evie of Warsaw, Illinois, and Mary Ann SMITH of Lucerne, Missouri; 27 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by: his parents; one great-grandson; and one sister, Violet.
