Nellie Jane ANDERSON, 89, of Fairfield, died Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2016, at SunnyBrook Assisted Living in Mt. Pleasant (note: in Henry Co., IA).

Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield is helping the family with arrangements.

Nellie Jane ANDERSON

Nellie Jane ANDERSON, 89, of Fairfield, died Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2016, at SunnyBrook Assisted Living in Mt. Pleasant.

The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Joseph Phipps officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.

Visitation will be 7-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials can be made to Hospice Compassus. Cards and memorials can be mailed to Patti BEAUCHAMP, 809 Allen Court, Westfield, IN 46074. Online condolences can be made at www.behnerfh.com.

Mrs. ANDERSON was born Aug. 15, 1927, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Lester and Edna McINTIRE ZILLMAN. She married Merle E. ANDERSON July 16, 1950. He died Sept. 24, 2001.

Mrs. ANDERSON lived most of her life in the Fairfield area. She owned and operated Nellie's Beauty Shop in the late 1950s. She kept her house immaculate and loved to cook, bake and prepare three meals a day. She loved spending time with family and having her granddaughters around meant the most to her.

Some of her interests were embroidering, sewing and collecting bells.

Survivors include: two children, Michael ANDERSON of Bay Harbor Islands, Florida, and Patti BEAUCHAMP and husband Dennis of Westfield, Indiana; two grandchildren; and one sister, Doris CHRISTOPHER of Cabot, Arkansas.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by: her parents; and one brother, Robert ZILLMAN.
