Bernie M. MUNTZ

Bernie M. MUNTZ, 84, of Bonaparte, died at 8:56 a.m. today, Monday, Nov. 7, 2016, in the emergency room at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.

Arrangements are pending at Pedrick Funeral Home.

Bernie M. MUNTZ

Bernie M. MUNTZ, 84, of Bonaparte died at 8:56 a.m. Monday, Nov. 7, 2016, in the emergency room at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Mark Caston officiating. Burial will be in Bonaparte Cemetery (note: in Van Buren Co., IA).

Visitation, with family, will be 10-11 a.m. Thursday prior to the service at the funeral home.

Gifts to a memorial to be designated later by the family can be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at PO Box 412, Keosauqua 52565.

Mrs. MUNTZ was born March 30, 1932, in LaPuenta, New Mexico. She married Bennie Eugene "Whitey" MUNTZ March 1, 1951, in LaPuenta, while he was in the U.S. Air Force. He died March 30, 2012.

The couple lived their married life in Bonaparte. Mrs. MUNTZ was a homemaker and home health aide, caring for disabled people in their homes.

Mrs. MUNTZ had been in Keosauqua Health Care Center for a month.

Survivors include: four sons, Robert MUNTZ of Bonaparte, Raymond MUNTZ with Blanche of Piketon, Ohio, Carl MUNTZ with Michael Bruce of Phoenix, Arizona, and Kenton MUNTZ with Veronica of Argyle; three daughters, Gloria STARNES with Charley of Keosauqua, Teresa GRAHAM with John WALLERICH of Sigourney and Stacy MUNTZ ROYAL with Dimitrious ROYAL of Farmington; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two brothers, Philip and Jerry, both in Utah; and one sister, Marcella, in Utah.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by: five grandchildren; and one brother, Jimmy.
