Jesse BROWER

Jesse BROWER, 84, of Lockridge, died Friday, Feb. 19, 2016, at Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bible Holiness Church in Cherokee, Kansas, with the Rev. Winfield Poe officiating. Internment (sic) will be in the Cherokee Cemetery.

Visitation will be 12:30-2 p.m. Tuesday prior to the funeral.

A local visitation will be noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, with family present from 2-4 p.m., at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mt. Pleasant.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Holiness Pilgrim Mission, PO Box 658, Shoals, IN 47581.

Mr. BROWER was born June 15, 1931, in New Florence, Missouri, the son of Harry and Ruth McMANAMY BROWER. He married Anna Ruth UTTLEY May 24, 1952. She died June 25, 2015.

Being born again in the fall of 1943, he attended high school at Independence Bible School in Independence, Kansas. He and his wife married two days after they both were in the first graduating class of the school.

In the 1980s, he attended Union Bible College in Westfield, Indiana, while working the night shift at Best Lock, which was one of the many interim jobs he had during his lifetime.

Mr. BROWER's devotion to the Lord's work, as pastor and missionary, took him all over the United States and other countries, including Mexico, Fiji Islands and Haiti. He spent the last 16 years doing deputation work for Holiness Pilgrim Mission.

He never met a stranger.

Survivors include: six daughters, Esther WHITAKER and husband Calvin of Anderson, Indiana, Elaine MILLARD and husband Tim of Lockridge, Ellen KRUEGER and husband James of Morrison, Missouri, Betty SHREFFLER of Owasso, Oklahoma, Becky HUNT of Springfield, Missouri, and Margaret SKIPPER and husband Gary of Troy, Ohio; 22 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceeded (sic) in death by: his parents; seven brothers, Harry Jr., Paul, Bobby, John, Joel, Philip, Sam; and one sister, Gertrude.
