Anna R. BROWER

Anna R. BROWER, 84, of Lockridge, died Thursday, June 25, 2015, at SunnyBrook Living Care Center in Fairfield.

A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Paul Miller officiating.

Visitation will precede the funeral. The family will receive friends from 9-11 a.m. Saturday at the memorial chapel.

A funeral also will be held at 11 a.m. July 11 at Bible Holiness Church in Cherokee, Kansas, with the Rev. Winfield Poe officiating. Burial wil be in the Cherokee Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Bible Missionary Church. Online condolences can be directed to www.olsonpowell.com.

Anna Ruth BROWER was born May 24, 1931, in Cherokee, Kansas, the daughter of William and Julia VANDRIS UTTLEY. She married Jesse Aaron BROWER May 24, 1952, in Cherokee, Kansas.

She graduated from Cherokee High School, then attended Independence Bible College in Independence, Kansas, for two years.

A devoted wife and mother, Mrs. BROWER was a housewife.

The couple made many moves in numerous states while her husband served as a pastor. She often worked as a secretary in various Christian schools. While living in Gravette, Arkansas, she worked in a children's clothing factory.

The couple served as missionaries in Old Mexico.

Mrs. BROWER loved to crochet and sew. Her children all have a homemade afghan. She later began making quilts and did cross-stitching.

Survivors include: her husband, Jesse, of Lockridge; six daughters, Esther WHITAKER and husband Calvin of Anderson, Indiana, Elaine MILLARD and husband Tim of Lockridge, Ellen KRUEGER and husband James of Morrison, Missouri, Betty SHREFFLER of Owasso, Oklahoma, Becky HUNT of Springfield, Missouri, and Margaret SKIPPER and husband Gary of Troy, Ohio; 22 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Lois WILMOTH of Olathe, Kansas; and one brother, Paul UTTLEY of Pittsburg, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; two brothers, Merlin UTTLEY and Ellis UTTLEY.
