Douglas E. PEEBLER, 63, of Brighton, died today, Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2015, at Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.

Arrangements are pending at Behner Funeral Home & Crematory in Fairfield.

Douglas "Doug" Eugene PEEBLER, 63, of Pleasant Plain, died Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2015, at Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, with words of comfort by Shelia Parcell. The body will be cremated, and burial will be at a later date at Brethren Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials can be made to the family. Cards and memorials can be mailed to Dennis PEEBLER, 307 E. Hempstead Ave., Fairfield 52556. Online condolences can be made to the family at www.behnerfh.com.

Mr. PEEBLER was born Sept. 19, 1951, in Fairfield, the son of Gene and Esther HEATER PEEBLER. He married Sue Ann DROZ June 6, 1951. She died June 27, 2009.

Mr. PEEBLER worked at Falco, Iowa Malleable and Rockwell as a skilled laborer. He owned and operated Owen's Gas Station.

He liked old cars, going to car shows, watching the Washington Redskins, basketball, being outdoors, going for car rides and relaxing on the porch. Most important to him was spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include: three sons, Dennis PEEBLER and wife Melanie of Fairfield, Doug PEEBLER Jr. and wife Brooke of Fairfield and Doug ROHME and wife Kristie of Georgia; companion, Virginia Gleason of Pleasant Plain; two grandsons; two brothers, David PEEBLER of Maryland and Steve PEEBLER of Agency; and five sisters, Joyce SULOMAN of Maryland, Marsha ROBERTS of Maryland, Janet APATOFF of Maryland, Sonja WILLIAMS of North Carolina and Beverly GRAY of West Virginia.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by: his parents; and one brother, Michael PEEBLER.
