Mr. ROSS was born May 7, 1952, in Ottumwa, the son of Donald and Helen SHAFFER ROSS. He married Connie HECKENBERG March 27, 1992, in Jefferson County.

He graduated from Cardinal High School in 1970 and began working in construction. He worked in South Carolina and Colorado for a few years. When he returned to Iowa, he worked for Knucolls Concrete out of Des Moines and then Brewingtion & Sons of Batavia until his declining health forced him to step back.

Mr. ROSS enjoyed being home with his family. He would find time to work on his old truck and had a special place in his heart for his dogs. As his health declined, and he was unable to do some of the physical things, he began reading western novels.

Survivors include: his wife, Connie; one son, Cody ROSS of Ames; two brothers, Larry ROSS and Barry ROSS; two sisters, Janet MARTIN and Kathy TEETER; two half-brothers, Bill ROSS and Bob ROSS; and one half-sister, Margaret Ann WORK.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
