Myron Edgar METZ

Myron Edgar METZ, 97, of Fairfield died Sunday, April 14, 2013, at Burlington Care Center in Burlington.

A graveside service is set for 2:30 p.m. Friday at Evergreen Cemetery, with the Rev. Trevor Davis officiating.

Visitation for family and friends will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Behner Funeral Home & Crematory.

Memorials can be made to the donor's choice. Cards and memorials can be mailed to Sharon Lawson, 1801 Grube, Burlington, IA 52601.

Mr. METZ was born Aug. 28, 1915, in Fairfield, the son of Chester and Rosa Bell WATSON METZ(.) He married Madelene BRERETON, Oct. 2, 1935.

He was a lifelong resident of Jefferson County. He was a farmer.

Survivors include two children: Dorothy LITTLE and husband Roger of Aurora, Colo., and Sharon LAWSON and husband Max of Burlington; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife; one brother: Donald METZ; and one sister: Grace BARKER.
