V. Evelyn McCRACKEN

V. Evelyn McCRACKEN, 80, of Keosauqua died at 8:14 a.m. today, Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, a (sic - at) Good Samaritan Society - Van Buren in Keosauqua.

A funeral is at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Bill Showmaker (sic - Shewmaker?) officiating. Burial will be in Fellows Cemetery, Keosauqua.

Visitation begins at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with family present 5-7 p.m.

Memorials to Good Samaritan Society-Van Buren or Keosauqua Christian Church may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 555 Craig Road, Walnut Shade, MO 65771.

Mrs. McCRACKEN was born Sept. 12, 1932, in Keosauqua, the daughter of Fred and Ina HARNESS CARRUTHERS. She married Delbert L. McCRACKEN Dec. 15, 1947, in Fairfield. He died June 24, 2006.

She lived all her life in Keosauqua.

She was an abstractor with Van Buren Abstract Co. for 30 years.

She was a member of Beer-Barker Unit No. 113 of American Legion Auxiliary in Keosauqua.

She was active in Keosauqua Christian Church.

Survivors include one son, Delbert Dale McCRACKEN and spouse Linda of Edmond, Okla.; one daughter, Nancy WOODS and spouse Danny of Walnut Shade; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Donald CARRUTHERS of Keosauqua and Jim CARRUTHERS of Brighton; three sisters, Dorothea RUSSELL of Burlington, Fran SELLS of Monmouth, Ill., and Freda THORNTON of Middletown.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Jack and Howard; and one sister, Arline SHANNAN.
