Harold L. EPPERSON, 99, formerly of Milton, died at 11:10 a.m. Thursday, June 21, 2012, at Good Samaritan Society-Van Buren in Keosauqua.

Arrangements are pending at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

Harold L. EPPERSON

Harold L. EPPERSON, 99, formerly of Milton, died at 11:10 a.m. Thursday, June 21, 2012, at Good Samaritan Society-Van Buren in Keosauqua.

A graveside service is 2 p.m. Sunday in Sunnyside Cemetery in Milton, with the Rev. Doran Bollman officiating.

Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua is assisting the family.

Mr. EPPERSON was born March 31, 1913, in Maryville, Mo., the son of George Leonard and Addie McCOMMAS EPPERSON. He married Marian F. ARNOLD Dec. 24, 1939. She died March 28, 2012.

The couple spent their married life farming in the Cantril-Milton community and had lived on the same farm near Milton from 1944 until entering the Good Samaritan Center March 19, 2012.

He was widely known for raising turkeys. He and his brother Charlie raised turkeys east of Cantril until Charlie entered World War II. Mr. EPPERSON moved to the Milton farm, raising turkeys for another 25 years.

He and his wife enjoyed traveling, especially returning to Missouri to visit relatives and friends.

Mr. EPPERSON served as a Milton school board member, was treasurer of Milton Lions Club and served on the Milton City Council.

Survivors include two sons, Keith EPPERSON and spouse Donna of Sigourney and Kenneth EPPERSON and spouse Beverly of Milton; four grandsons; and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Charles EPPERSON; and two sisters, Ann HUGHES and Evelyn EPPERSON.
