Donald D. HARRYMAN

Donald D. HARRYMAN, 90, of rural Douds, died at 1:55 a.m., today, Friday, June 15, 2012, at Bickford Assisted Living Center in Burlington where he had resided since March 31.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Christ United Methodist Church in Douds, with the Rev. Ann Donat officiating. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery east of Douds.

Visitation begins at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds with family present from 5-7 p.m.

A Masonic service by Celestial Lodge No. 413 will follow visitation.

Memorials to Christ United Methodist Church, Zion Lutheran Cemetery or Celestial Lodge may be left at the funeral home or church or mailed to the family at 525 Summer St., Burlington 52601.

Mr. HARRYMAN was born Sept. 8, 1921, the son of Dewey F. and Rowena MORROW HARRYMAN, near Douds. He married Violet V. BROWN Jan. 17, 1945, in Burlington. She died March 17, 2007.

Mr. HARRYMAN grew up in the Douds and Fairfield communities. He graduated from Fairfield High School and spent most of his adult life farming the family farm east of Douds. He also had been a heavy equipment operator and worked at Douds Stone Inc.

He regularly attended Christ United Methodist Church, was a Past Master of Celestial Lodge No. 413, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons in Douds and a member of Davenport Scottish Rite Masonic bodies.

Survivors include one daughter, Sharon SCOTT and spouse Deane of Dallas City, Ill.; one son, Marvin HARRYMAN and spouse Carolyn of Burlington; one daughter-in-law, Linda HARRYMAN of Shawnee, Kan., one foster sister, Mary COSBY of Burlington; seven grandsons; three granddaughters; and 19 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Kenneth HARRYMAN; and three brothers, Francis, Robert and Carl HARRYMAN.
