HARRYMAN, Violet Viola -- Violet Viola HARRYMAN, 85, of rural Douds, died at 2:20 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2007, at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.
A service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Oak Grove Church, east of Douds, with the Revs. Len Garrison and Harold Harryman officiating. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, east of Douds.
Open visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, with an Order of Eastern Star service at 7 p.m., followed by family visitation until 8:30 p.m.
Memorials to Oak Grove Church or Zion Lutheran Cemetery may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 15034 Hawk Drive, Douds 52551.
Mrs. HARRYMAN was born Jan. 17, 1922, in Kingston, the daughter of John and Ruby YOUNG BROWN. She married Donald Dewey HARRYMAN Jan. 17, 1945, in Burlington.
Mrs. HARRYMAN was a 1941 graduate of Sperry High School. She worked at the Newport, R.I., torpedo station during World War II. She and her husband famred their entire married life. She hung wallpaper and worked for 20 years at Van Buren County Hospital.
Mrs. HARRYMAN was a member of Oak Grove Church. She was a member of Ladies Aid, Twin City Chapter No. 258 Order of Eastern Star in Douds, Keosauqua Grey Ladies and Daughters of the American Revolution.
She enjoyed needle work, quilting, gardening, fishing, camping and spending time with family.
Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Sharon SCOTT and husband Deane of Dallas City, Ill.; two sons, Kenneth HARRYMAN and wife Linda of Shawnee, Kan., and Marvin HARRYMAN and wife Carolyn of Burlington; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy BROWN PEARSON of Kingston and Hazel BROWN HARL of Waukegan, Ill.; and one brother, Willard BROWN of Kingston.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Dale, Ralph, Lloyd and Leo BROWN; and one sister, Lucile BROWN MELLENGER.
