Dorothy E. ROBERTS

Dorothy E. ROBERTS, 92, formerly of Milton, died at 6:05 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, 2011, at Davis County Hospital Long Term Care Unit in Bloomfield.

A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Milton Christian Church, with the Rev. Justin DeVries officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery in Milton.

Open visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the family present from 5-7 p.m.

Memorials to Davis County Hospital Long Term Care Unit may be left at the funeral home or church or may be mailed to the family at 55901 North Demoss Road, Benton City, WA 99320.

Mrs. ROBERTS was born March 2, 1919, in Upton, the daughter of Clarence and Mary WIREMAN NICHOLS. She married Marion W. "Red" ROBERTS March 2, 1937, in Ottumwa. He died Nov. 29, 2008.

Mrs. ROBERTS and her husband lived for a time in Lockridge and for many years in Milton, where Mr. ROBERTS managed the lumberyard. Mrs. ROBERTS was a homemaker and part-time bookkeeper at the lumberyard. She resided in the long-term care unit the last several years.

She was a longtime member of Milton Christian Church, where she served in numerous offices, sang in the choir and played the organ. She had been a member of Order of the Eastern Star.

Mrs. ROBERTS enjoyed singing, playing music, doing crossword puzzles, being with family, flower gardening and being with her cats.

Survivors include one daughter, Deborah DICKMAN and husband James of Benton City, Wash.; two grandchildren; and one sister, Vada YOUNKER of Independence.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, James L. ROBERTS and Larry ROBERTS in infancy; one infant daughter, Mona ROBERTS; and several brothers and sisters, including Ruth NICHOLS HENSLEY.
