John Brown OWEN

John Brown OWEN, 93, of Fairfield, died Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011, at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.

Cremation has been accorded, and a service is scheduled.

Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield is assisting with the arrangements.

Mr. OWEN was born March 19, 1918, in St. Louis, Mo., the son of John G. and Marguarite BROWN OWEN. He married Mary SHELMAN.

Mr. OWEN attended the University of Chicago. He was an insurance executive and lived in Kansas City, Mo.; Worthington, Ind.; Indianapolis, Ind.; and St. Louis before moving to Fairfield.

Mr. OWEN served as a captain in the United States Army in the European Theater during World War II.

Survivors include his wife and two daughters: Jerre STETSON and husband Peter and Cynthia REECE, all of Fairfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
