Oma May ULIN, 94, of Fairfield, died Sunday morning, Jan. 16, 2011, at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.

Arrangements are pending at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Oma May ULIN

Oma May ULIN, 94, of Fairfield, died Sunday morning, Jan. 16, 2011, at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.

A funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Nate Nims officiating. Cremation will follow, with interment at a later time in Pennington Cemetery, south of Sigourney.

Family visitation will be from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mrs. ULIN was born May 13, 1916, in Fairfield, the daughter of Hugh and Ethel HOSKINS SANDS. She married Forest "Frosty" ULIN May 31, 1934. He died Jan. 22, 2008.

Mrs. ULIN spent her early childhood in Afton before her family moved to Fairfield. She graduated from Fairfield High School in 1933 and later from Parsons college. For many years, Mrs. ULIN assisted her husband in the family photography business. She then became a school teacher and began her teaching career in Richland, where she taught elementary school for three years. In 1960, she joined the Fairfield school system and taught second grade until retiring in 1979.

Mrs. ULIN was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church. Prior to her illness, she was active in the Retired Teachers Association.

Survivors include one daughter, Jane CONNOLLY of Waverly; one son, Bill ULIN and wife Kitty of Manassas, Va.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
