BOESE, Marian Loretta -- Marian Loretta BOESE, 88, died Monday, Nov. 22, 2010, at Washington Care Center in Washington, Iowa.

No local service is planned. Private burial of cremains will be at a later date.

Memorials to a charity of the donor's choice and cards may be sent to Pamela Jackson, 6 Parkside Est. Road, Washington 52353.

Mrs. BOESE was born Nov. 19, 1922, near Weaver, the daughter of Daniel August and Florence Christine MILLER HORN. She married Dale Junior BOESE May 28, 1951, in Washington, Iowa. He died May 20, 2007.

Mrs. BOESE lived most of her life in Washington, Henry and Jefferson counties. She was a homemaker. She also had worked for the glove factory in New London and at Universal Producing in Fairfield.

Her hobbies include making quilts and rugs, crafting, scrapbooking and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include three children: Gary PHILLIPS and wife Linda of Selma, Pamela JACKSON of Washington, Iowa, and Alan BOESE of Lockridge; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and four siblings: Donald HORN of Escondido, Calif., Harlan HORN of Fallbrook, Calif., Arlene KIRK of Elk, Wash., and Marcelene WATSON of Hillsboro.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter: Paula NIXON; two brothers, Edward and Jerry HORN; and one sister, Lois HORN JOHNSON.
