ELMA — Angeline Goetz, 85, Elma, died Tuesday, April 2, 2002 at Mercy Medical Center in New Hampton of natural causes.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 6 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Lourdes with Reverend John Hemann officiating. Theresa Burke will be the organist and will accompany the soloist, Betty Boehmer, singing "You Are Mine" and the Our Lady of Lourdes Church Choir singing "Be Not Afraid" and "Amazing Grace". Lector will be Betty Boehmer. Mary Jo and Gary Ries will present the offertory gifts.
Burial will be in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery with Joe Neubauer, Art Aberly, Jerry Smith, Russell O'Brien, John Hoffer, Pete Chihak, Pat Ries and Lloyd Neubauer serving as casket bearers.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 5 at Conway-Kolbet Funeral Home, Elma, where there will be a 4:30 p.m. Rosary Society Rosary and a 7 p.m. Scripture Service. Visitation will also be an hour prior to services at the church.
Angeline M. Goetz was born May 24, 1916 on a farm near Lourdes, the daughter of James and Mayme (Stevenson) Neubauer. She attended country school near her home. After her schooling she spent most of her time caring for her grandparents. On Nov. 22, 1942 she was united in marriage to Frank Goetz at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Lourdes. Following their marriage the couple farmed in the Lourdes area. The couple retired in 1985 and moved to Elma in 1991. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and Rosary Society. She enjoyed baking, playing cards, reading, sewing, making quilts and embroidery.
Survivors include an aunt, Alice Aberly, Lime Springs; two sisters-in-law, Vin Chihak, Elma and Ruth Pecinovsky, Walker and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Frank, in 1995 and a brother, James Neubauer, Jr.
