Seeking further information on my great Grandfather, John Wellington Deignan. Hoping the organization he belonged to Independent Order of Honor, may have his exact place of birth, which I have as Dublin, Ireland. The rest of his children are known to me as my grandfather and uncle, Uncle was Osborn Warren Deignan. Grandfather Frank Leon Deignan. John was supposedly discharged from the army in 1871 from Plattsburgh Barracks in New York, with Consumption.
Records I've searched say that John W. was born in Houlton, Aroostook, Maine with parents Mary Deignan and John Deignan. Guthrie information is correct, according to a town historian of Stuart of many years ago. Unfortunately, I cannot remember her name.
