Is there a possibility of getting more information on my great grandfather John Wellington Deignan born 1845. His military records states he was born in Dublin, Ireland. However, The Parish Priest in Houlton, Maine states he was born in Houlton, Maine, This was noted in the Parish Records of St. Mary's Visitation. My question, which is correct, his military records, or church. I can find nothing in Dublin and if his mother was born in Houlton, (see Old Houlton Cemetery for a Durnin Memorial) Mary's Mother's name was Mary also.
