Very helpful. I suppose I can get copies of any of the probate records from the Dubuque County Clerk. Especially those of James Wilde, Elizabeth C. Wilde, and John Wilde.
Henry C. Olney probably came from Wisconsin. Wisconsin is, after all, only just across the river from Dubuque.
Any more history on the Camp family would also be very appreciated. I believe this may be the H. T. Camp that was in Bond County, Illinois per the 1830 Census. I need to check the 1836 Iowa territorial census for them. Looks like parts of the Camp and Wilde family both continued to live in Dubuque past the turn of the century.
Lines of my family seem to have a way of being th earliest settlers of the various parts of america they moved to. The Fine family was amoung the first settlers on the Big Pigeon River, Cocke County, Tennessee; of Washington County, Arkansas; and Llano, Bosque, Comanche & Williamson Counties, Texas. For that matter, Thomas Olney was an original settler of Providence, RI along with Roger Williams (who I am also descended from).
