Gustave
Tiefenbrunn, and old and respected citizen of Dubuque, died Tuesday morning April 5th, at 2 o'clock p.m. of punmonia. Mr Tiefenbrunn eas born in Kiberfeit, Germany, April 28th, 1833, and consequently lacked 23 days of being forty-eight years of age at the time of his death.
He came to Dubuque in 1855, and was married here. From this marriage he had an offspring of fourteen children, of whom thirteen have died and only one a married daughter survives him. His wife died in San Francisco two or three years ago. He has four brothers and two sisters surviving him. One brother Jack, in St Louis, one brother in Iowa, one sister in Illinois, and the whereabouts of the other two brothers and one sister is unknown. His father and mother are also still living in St Louis and last spring Mr Tiefenbaunn vivited the city to be present at their golden wedding.
Mr Tiefenbrunn was a plasterer by trade, a honest hard working, industrious man, formerly keeping a store on Main and afterwards on Clay street and merited the patronage of the people by his earnest effort to earn by faithful endeavor, an honest living

The funeral will occur fron his residence 353 Clay street, between 8th and 9th street at 2 o'clock p.m. April 7th.

In the probate records Gustav Tiefenbaunn, is listed as leaving no widow, and his only heirs-at-law, his only child Wilhelmina, about 15 years of age.
