Found no obituary in Dubuque for John Redmond, but I did find a death record

Age- 75
Married
Born- Ireland
Died 16 Dec 1887
Residence- West Hill
Cause of death- old age
Burial- 18 Dec 1887, Garryowen

Obituary, 29 Oct 1902
Mrs Bridget Redmond, an aged and esteemed citizen of Dubuque passed away at the family residence, 101 Apple and Rush street, at five o'clock this morning, death resulting from old age.
Mrs Redmond was well and most favorably known in this city, where she had resided nearly all her life. For some time deceased had been failing and without suffering pain the worthy womwn passed to her final reward today.
Mrs Redmond is survived by her children, Mrs Thomas Kenneally, Mrs David Cunningham, of Dubuque; Mrs Tim O'Connor, of Waterloo; Mrs Ed Hues, of Fort Dodge; Mrs Con Lynch, of Fort Dodge and William and Matt.
The funeral will be held Saturday, Nov 1st, to Garryowen, where the body will be laid to rest.
