DYERSVILLE, Iowa - Gladys M. Hoeger, 81, of Dyersville, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2010, at Ellen Kennedy Living Center, Dyersville.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, with the Rev. Dennis Quint officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be a parish scripture service at 5:30 p.m.

She was born on Jan. 25, 1929, in Dyersville, daughter of Emil and Eulalia (Fangmann) Jasper. Eulalia preceded her in death and Emil married Monica Fangmann, who was the mother that raised Gladys.

She married Anthony L. Hoeger on Sept. 18, 1947, in Dyersville. Together they farmed near Worthington until they moved to Dyersville in 1972. He preceded her in death in 1994.

Gladys worked in the nutrition department at Mercy Medical Center, Dyersville.

She was a member of St. Mary's Hospital Auxiliary, having volunteered more than 1000 hours since 1994.

Surviving are her children, Nancy (Rick) Heim, of Farley, Dan (Rosie) Hoeger, of Cedar Rapids, Dean Hoeger, of Toddville, and Neil (Linda) Hoeger, of Dyersville; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ken (Margie) Jasper, of Manchester, and Lloyd (Carol) Jasper, both of Dyersville; and brothers- and sisters-in-law, Vera Curtis, of Dyersville, Delores Klostermann, of Dubuque, Betty Jasper, of Farley, Joe (Lois) Hoeger and Clara Mae Hoeger, both of Dyersville.

She also was preceded in death by her parents and the mother that raised her, Monica Jasper; a son-in-law, Tom Hoefer; and brothers- and sisters-in-law, Bernie (Catherine) Hoeger, Al (Dorothy) Hoeger, Paul Curtis, Vern Klostermann, Roy Jasper and Frank Hoeger.
