Lillian D. Hoefer, 76, of Stonehill Care Center, formerly of Milwaukee, Wis., and Waterloo, Iowa, died at 5:10 a.m. Saturday, June 13, 1998, at Mercy Health Center St. Joseph's Unit.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Raphael's Cathedral, with burial in St. Francis Cemetery, Dyersville, Iowa. Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. Mon-day at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., where there will be a parish wake service at 4 p.m.

She formerly worked as a vending stand operator and a darkroom film processor. She later operated the gift shop at the Sunrise Nursing Home, Milwaukee. She was last employed by the Workshop for the Blind in Milwaukee.

She was born on Oct. 21, 1921, in Petersburg, Iowa, daughter of Raymond H. and Olive M. (Nurre) Hoefer.

She graduated from the Iowa School of the Blind, Vinton, Iowa. She was a member of St. Raphael's Parish, Dubuque. She was also a member of the Dubuque Association of the Blind and a member of the Badger Association of the Blind in Milwaukee. Lillian enjoyed music, current events and historical programs.

Surviving are three sisters, Verna (Donald) Muhowski, of Milwaukee, Sister Mary Gabrielle Hoefer, RSM, and Sister Mary Monica Hoefer, RSM, both of Dubuque; and cousins.
