I am a descendent of late 1850's James and Mary (Jones) THOMAS of Monona through their daughter Lu E. (Elizabeth) MARKS b.1881; and her daughter Marjorie (Marguerite) Lu MELDRUM b.1901.
Family history relates James as being from Wales; wife Mary ("a Yankee") b.New York State; they were married at "church at Merlin's Bridge Pembrokeshire Wales, & came to America through Canada".
I have a photo of the family home in Monona, & 1907 photo of the family members, including Alice (Mary Thomas's sister) James and Mary's son Hugh Thomas, and young grandaughter Marjorie.
Further insight would be appreciated! of course...I found herein this site that the Monona cemetary has the graves listed of Griffith (1824-1904) and James (1849-1900), of Alice (1821-1883) and Hugh (1877-1924) (above listed), an infant son Mathhew (1882), but not Mary Thomas, James wife herself, although her grandaughter was specific in her (Mary's) death in the great influenza epidemics around 1918.
Thank you.
