Per a public family tree on ancestry.com:

John Henderson

Birth 19 Aug 1786 in County Derry, Ireland

Death 06 Aug 1861 in Buena Vista, Clayton, Iowa

Marriage to Sarah Sterling McGowen about 1810

Moved from Ireland, in 1816, to St. Thomas, Franklin County, Pennsylvania, and then to Buena Vista Township, Clatyon County, Iowa in 1855.

I do see John Henderson (64 - weaver from Ireland), Sarah (53 _ Ireland), Margaret (19 - PA), Adam (13), and Catherine (4) are listed on the 1850 census for St. Thomas, Franklin County, Pennsylvania. John Henderson (65), Mary (64), and Adam (25) are listed in Buena Vista on the 1860. All are listed as having been born in Ireland.

12 children are listed in the public tree on ancestry for John and Sarah.
