NATIVE OF CITY DIES
_______Funeral services were held at Janesville, Wisconsin, on Monday for August Clefisch, who was born in Guttenberg on March 11, 1887. Mr. Clefisch died June 1 at the Madison, Wisconsin, Veterans hospital. Military rites were held for Mr. Clefisch.
A veteran of World War I, Mr. Clefisch was the last of his immediate family; he had never married and is survived by a number of nephews and nieces.
Among those attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. Ray Clefisch of Westgate; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Schave and Linda of Luana; Mrs. Roger Wettleson of Postville; Mr. and Mrs. Emil Troester of Garnavillo; Kenneth Clefisch of McGregor; Mrs. Carter Smith of Garber; Virgil Clefisch, Mrs. L. Clefisch and Elmer Kottke of Guttenberg. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Kottke and Mr. and Mrs. Harley Clefisch went to Janesville Sunday to view the remains.
