DEAD.— K.K. Carver, the genial engineer on the Milwaukee road, died at his home in Turkey River Sunday morning. Mr. Carver had been ailing some time with heart disease, but none of us thought he was so near the end of his run.

He was buried at Dubuque under the auspices of the Masons.

Note: Served in Co. G, 76th Ind. Inf.

Death of a Veteran
Another veteran has gone to join his comrades on the other shore - this time it is Engineer K.K. Carver, who died at his home at Turkey River Station on Sunday last. The remains will be brought to Dubuque this afternoon for interment. Comrade Carver served his country faithfully and well; he was a patriot and true man, and his death will be sincerely mourned by all who knew him.

Resolutions of Respect
The remains of Engineer K.K. Carver were brought down from Turkey river on the morning train and were taken in charge by Masonic Lodge No 125, A.F. and A.M., assisted by members of sister lodges, who accompanied the remains to Linwood cemetery, where the usual masonic service was held. Upon the return of the craft to Masonic Hall the following resolutions were adopted. [The remainder of the article listed the usual & numerous resolutions by the masonic lodge. Additional useful information included "the grief-stricken wife and daughter"]

Engineer K.K. Carver, of the C.M. & St. P., died Sunday at the family residence at Turkey River station. Deceased formerly lived in Dubuque and was a member of a Dubuque lodge of Free Masons. Mr. Carver has for some time drawn one of the trains upon the Volga branch. His remains were taken to Dubuque on Monday last for burial.
