Cedar Rapids Gazette, Sun., 7 Oct. 1951.

Killed In Korea - Sgt. John H. Taylor, 21, son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Taylor of Volga, was reported killed in action in Korea Sept. 12 while serving with an assault platoon of the 1st marine division. Born June 20, 1930, at Volga and graduate of Volga high school, Sgt. Taylor entered service in 1947. After serving three years, he was discharged. He was recalled to active duty in November, 1950.
