Harold Aulerich

Funeral services were held for Harold George Karl Aulerich Saturday, Jan. 9 at 1;30 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Monona. Rev. Harold O. Ward officiated. Burial was in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery. Schultz's Funeral Home, Monona was in charge of arrangements.

Harold was born December 18, 1902, in Monona Twp., Clayton County, Iowa, to parents George and Martha Schultz Aulerich. He was baptized Jan. 4, 1903 by Pastor Graening and confirmed April 1, 1917 by Pastor Wappler at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Monona. He received his education in country school and consolidated Luana school.

April 14, 1926 he married Hilda DeSotel at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Monona. The couple had one daughter. They farmed in the Monona area until retiring in 1967 when they moved into Monona.

Harold died Wednesday, January 6, 1988 at Veterans Memorial Hospital, Waukon.

Preceding him in death were his parents, one brother, Carl and one sister, Vera Cayler.

Surviving is his wife, Hilda, one daughter and son-in-law, Kenneth and Mardella Suddendorf, Monona; 3 grandchildren, Lonny, Larry and Judy Suddendorf and 2 great-grandchildren, Ashley and Whitney Suddendorf.

Pallbearers were Larry Suddendorf, Palmer Brownson, Brent Bruns, Raymond DeSotel, Jason Ferguson and Wayne DeSotel.

Honorary pallbearers: Gordon Beinke, Otmar Bruns, Robert Trappe, Roy Grove, Ronald D. Mueller and Dennis Grove.
