Vivian was born May 2, 1901 at North McGregor, Clayton County, daughter of Charles and Grace (Dickens) Scrogum. After graduating from high school she worked at the Post Office until she married Robert Bruise Lee on Thanksgiving Day in 1921. The couple lived in Hartley for about a year when Robert was offered a Superintendent of School job in Rawlins, Wyo. which became their residence for 32 years. During this time, Vivian was introduced to the sport of golf by some friends who offered to teach her to play. Her husband bought her a set of clubs for her birthday and later a set for himself. From her first trip to the links in the early 1930's, Vivian went on to win the Wyoming Ladies State Golf Championship in 1938. She and Bob became accomplished golfers, a pastime they could enjoy together and both held the title of Rawlins City Champions. The couple retired to Oceanside, Calif. and in 1966, moved to Mapleton where Vivian was also the City Champion. Robert died Dec. 7, 1987. Vivian remained in her home until Oct. of 1999, when she moved into the nursing home. She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church in Mapleton. Vivian and Bob devoted much of their time to charitable causes through the Shriners and the Daughters of the Nile, of which she was a Charter Member. Her hobbies included reading, current events, bridge, socializing and sewing for the children in the hospitals. Surviving are nieces and nephews and their families. Along with her husband, Vivian was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Grace Ann and five nieces and nephews, one brother, Earl and one sister, Ila.
