Adelbert C. Harvey was born in Bengal county, Michigan, March 23, 1856, and passed away at his home in Volga at 6 a.m. June 5, 1926 at the age of 70 years, 2 months and 13 days. Seven of his children were at his bedside when he passed away. Mr. Harvey was a well-respected resident of Volga. His parents moved to Volga vicinity when he was eleven years old to the farm five miles south of Volga, where he had always lived till a year ago when he moved to what was then called the Jerry Hurley farm. Here his health began to fail and he gradually became worse last March and the family moved to Volga. Mr. Harvey was united in marriage Jan 1, 1890 to Miss Stella Emily Towslee at Edgewood, Iowa. To this union nine children were born. Two died in infancy. Mr. Harvey was a kind husband and father, a good neighbor, upright, honest in his business relations and well liked especially by all who know him. During his sickness the pastor called upon him a number of times and he confessed his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, his Saviour. He leaves to mourn his absence his loved wife and seven children, Mrs. Edward Everetts, Mrs. James Hummell of Volga, Reuben of Strawberry Point, Mrs. Forest Dunn of Wadena, Alfred, Alma and Alta all at home; one sister, Mrs. Frank Towslee of Devils Lake, N.D., six grandchildren and a host of friends. Funeral services were held from the Methodist – Episcopal church, ---------noon, Rev. Robert Davies officiating. Interment was made in HillCrest cemetery.
