Funeral services for Mrs. Henry C. Schnepf were held at St. John's Evangelical and Reformed church at Garber at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon, Feb. 17. The Rev. Paul Kitterer of the Peace Evalgelical and Reformed church at Elkader officiated. Burial was in Mount Harmony cemetery.
Mrs. Schnepf died in Xavier hospital in Dubuque, Feb. 14, 1952, following a long illness. She had reached the age of 60 years, 8 months and 27 days at the time of death.
Hattie McDonald was born at Elkport, Iowa, May 17, 1891, the daughter of George and Ella McDonald. She graduated from the Elkport high school with the class of 1907. For several years she was clerk in the Charles Baumgartner store in Elkport. In January, 1912, she was elected assistant cashier of the Farmers Savings Bank, Garber, which position she held continuously until the liquidation of the bank.
She was united in marriage to Henry C. Schnepf April 15, 1914.
In her many business activities she held the office of town treasurer of Garber more than 26 years.
She was a member of Minnehaha Chapter No. 344, Order of the Eastern Star, of Colesburg.
She is survived by her husband , one step-son, Kenneth Schnepf, of Whittier, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Julia Thein of Oelwein; one uncle, William F. Schmidt of Fond du Lac, Wis.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were: Arthur Jennings, Otto Schmelzer, Morris Bowman, Robert Hafner, John L. Costigan and Thor Fisko.
