Clayton County Register, 21 Feb. 1952.

Mrs. Elmer Schmalfeldt [sic], 49, died suddenly at her home in Farmersburg township, Monday, Feb. 18.

Funeral services were held at the residence at one o'clock this afternoon (Thursday) and at St. John's Lutheran church in Farmersburg at 1:30 o'clock. The Rev. R. H. Steege officiated. Burial was in the Clayton Center cemetery.
