GUTTENBERG: Louis C. Giencke, 77, died at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Niehaus, Wednesday, Jan. 23. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 from the Tuecke funeral chapel with the Rev. E. W. Kraemer officiating. Burial was in the city cemetery.

He was a patient at Lutheran hospital at La Crosse, Wis., since July and only recently brought to the Niehaus home. He was born on Oct. 11, 1874, in Guttenberg, the son of the late Carl and Marie Bruening Giencke. He graduated from the Guttenberg high school.

For some years he was employed at the Pearl Button company, also served as postmaster here for a number of years.

Survivors are a number of cousins. His parents and two sisters preceded him in death.
