Mrs. William Sheppard, 83, died at 3 o'clock Friday afternoon, Jan. 18, at the home of her son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Morch.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 1:15 o'clock from Schultz funeral home to the Evangelical church in Monona at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. A. W. Ebert officiating. Burial was in the Gooding-Wagner cemetery.
As Anna Otillie Mina, she was born the daughter of Anton and Wilhelmina Marfilius, Nov. 08, 1868, at the farm home near Wauzeka, Wis. She received her education in that community.
She was married to Wm. Sheppard April 07, 1887. They went to farming in Wagner township. At the time of her death she had lived on the same farm 57 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband and one daughter.
She is survived by three daughters and five sons: Mrs. Oscar (Cora) Morch, Luana; Mrs. Clara Olson, Cresco; Mrs. Roy (Esther) Burr, Cresco; Benjamin of Langdon, N.Dak.; Elmer of Burlington, and Myron of Fayette; 27 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Pall bearers were: Eldon, Glen and Elmer Kurth, Henry Mueller, Milton Meier and Justus Kammerer.
